Thromboprophylaxis that works in the ward routine
The Phlebo Press® DVT 650 Easy is a mobile device for intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC). The garments compress sequentially and promote venous return — as a mechanical measure of thromboprophylaxis, for example when pharmacological prophylaxis is not an option, or as an addition in high-risk settings.
- Working pressure 45 mmHg, automatically controlled — apply the garment, connect, switch on.
- Calf & thigh garments in three sizes (S/M/L), as single-use and reusable variants.
- Quiet operation (≤ 50 dBA) — suitable for the night shift and multi-bed rooms.
- Compact & mobile (2.1 kg) — fits any trolley, with bed/pole mount.
- Device instruction under §83 MPBetreibV by the UniCare team.

Areas of use
IPC is used in the hospital as a mechanical measure of thromboprophylaxis — the indication is determined by the treating professionals. Typical areas of use:
- Postoperative thromboprophylaxis (surgery, orthopaedics, vascular surgery, gynaecology)
- Intensive care for immobilised patients
- When pharmacological prophylaxis is contraindicated (e.g. acute bleeding risk, HIT)
- As an addition to pharmacological prophylaxis in high-risk settings
Frequently asked questions
Are the garments single-use or reusable?
Both are available: calf and thigh garments come as single-use and reusable variants in sizes S, M and L. We advise on the choice according to your ward and hygiene concept.
How is the compression pressure set?
The pressure is controlled automatically by the device — apply the garment, connect, switch on. No manual pressure setting is required.
How loud is the device in operation?
The noise level is up to 50 dBA — quiet enough for the night shift and multi-bed rooms.
When is mechanical thromboprophylaxis not suitable?
Intermittent pneumatic compression is contraindicated, among others, in acute deep vein thrombosis and advanced peripheral arterial occlusive disease. The indication is determined by the treating professionals; we provide the necessary usage information.
How quickly are service and maintenance available?
Our German-speaking maintenance team operates nationwide, with short, defined response times in case of a fault. We deliver consumables on a planned basis from the Hesse warehouse.
Does nursing staff receive an instruction?
Yes. Delivery includes a device instruction under §83 MPBetreibV — on site, documented in writing, and on request during shifts and as a refresher when staff change.
